Inspiration for this blog!

Oh the Places You'll Go written by Dr. Seuss is the main inspiration for this blog. The book represents the story of a child as they set off into the big and unknown world. Throughout the story the child encounters all sorts of different things and adventures, that will test and shape his life. This child learns about what life has to offer, all the possibilities, and all of the challenges. Much like all of our lives. Most of you know, but for those of you who don't, Trace and I are in our first years of living as a married couple, away from parents, family, and friends. We have set off into this world by ourselves and are encountering many things that are shaping us as "adults". Even though we were 22, technically considered an adult, when we moved away, we did not realize how fast we would have to become responsible adults. We were living away from everybody who was always there to help us when we were in a bind, we had to learn to rely on ourselves and each other when life threw us some curveballs. The book written by Dr. Seuss was also a gift I gave to Trace when he Graduated Basic Training. What better of a book, then that one to represent his new chapter in life. So for those of you who are reading, I hope you come back to see what new adventures and challenges are being thrown in the Taft's way!

“You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”
-Dr. Seuss, Oh the Places You'll Go
